I wonder what’s the level of effectiveness of anti smoking ads targeted at smokers out there?
Despite all those gross ads showing all kinds of disease associated with smoking, I believe smokers are already aware of them so will these anti smoking ads work or will they backfire?
Ads are targeted at smokers, youths and children are subjected to them too depending on where and the time they aired on TV.
Children watching who are concerned, ask parents to stop or quit. They don’t and start giving excuses like they will try to quit or excuse like nothing will happen to me etc.
I believe the tendency of the children would be to follow in their elders footsteps in taking up the habit because they don’t see them succumbing to those diseases despite their smoking habit
How about anti smoking ads targeted at the appearance, libido of smokers instead the usual associated diseases. Anti smoking ads linked to impotence, blindness, wrinkled skins may have a better effect.
How about ads showing personal financial lost? By not quitting, how much more money is spend on cigarettes per year, insurance premiums go up and dry cleaning bills are higher, resale price of houses are cars is lower.
Well, perhaps it’s about time those agency out there relook into the effectiveness of anti smoking ads they have put up to date and it’s time for a revamp.
